Launching without branding wasn't on my bingo card for 2024

When you launch a new business you have an idea of how you want everything to go. I guess like life, you can plan as much as you want and then God, the Universe, fate, what ever you want to call it, will inevitably end up turning out however it does.
When I first thought to launch Mira Threads, it was on the back of closing down my dance studio in Melbourne, Energia Studios. While that studio was running I had worked with a few different manufacturers until I found one that gave me the quality of product I had wanted and then we had them shipped to the studio and sold to our students. Those tights were originally called Energia Tights.
Fast forward a few years and while trying to clear all the stock I had left over from the studio I had the idea to create a fishnets subscription based business because when I was a performer, the mental load of having to go buy a new pair of tights mixed in with the cost of the tights was always such a drain and I wanted to do something that was also helping artists who were out there living their best gigging lives.
A few weeks prior to launching my manufacturer sent me new stock in preparation for launch however forgot to pack our branding.
This prompted conversations between my husband and I about where we wanted the brand to be, look like and feel like which then brought us to a total rebrand and renaming to Mira Threads.
Here's what our old branding looked like
It was a case of 'when life gives you lemons, make lemonade' and to be honest, I feel like it's the best thing we could have done. Especially if you had have seen the branding prior and it meant it separated us from the old studio.
You can plan as much as you like however you can't predict what's out of your hands. You just have to role with the punches which is exactly what we did and we love our new look and feel so much more!
